The Society of Arts + Crafts invites craft artists to share their artwork and their stories with a vibrant community of craft lovers through online exhibitions and sales of fine craft. Each CraftBoston show, lasting 6-8 weeks, will allow our artists to work with us throughout the year, and will present repeated opportunities for connection and engagement with collectors, scholars, curators, and craft enthusiasts. Why CraftBoston Online Shows?

CraftBoston Online shows are visited by craft lovers from all 50 states and Washington, D.C. For more than 20 years, CraftBoston shows have featured some of the country’s foremost craft artists alongside talented emerging artists, establishing a national reputation for quality and innovation. As an exhibiting artist, you will have the opportunity to create a personalized Artist Profile and feature up to 10 of your artworks in our online shop. Our marketing and PR teams help to spotlight each artist who participates. And, since our show is fully virtual, there’s no need to travel or ship work to a gallery in advance.

Applicant Notification:

Applicants will be notified of their status no later than the date specified below:

Jubilee: July 8, 2022
Holiday: Oct. 7, 2022

Consignment: The Society will issue a consignment contract for the specified show. Items will be sold with a 60% artists / 40% Society split on the retail price. Artwork must be available for sale during the entire consigned period. The Society reserves the right to offer small promotional discounts on occasion but the artist will receive their full commission on the original retail price.

Possession: All consigned artwork will remain in the physical possession of the artist until it is sold and shipped.

Shipment and Cost: In most cases, the Society recommends offering free shipping on artwork as we have learned that this can encourage and incentivize sales. However, we recognize that shipping needs vary widely based on the size, price, and weight of the artwork, along with the geography of the buyer and seller. To offer more flexibility to participating artists in handling shipping costs, we have expanded our shipping options to include:

  • Free shipping, paid by the artist
  • $10 shipping, paid by the buyer
  • $25 shipping, paid by the buyer
  • Custom shipping, paid by the buyer*
*Buyers will be directed to contact the artist prior to purchase, who will be responsible for billing and collecting shipping costs separately.

Shipping costs are set individually for each item by the artist. The Society will collect shipping costs at the time of purchase and reimburse the artist for shipping costs by check combined with the consignment payment. The Society will not collect payment or participate in custom shipping arrangements; these arrangements constitute a separate agreement between the artist and the buyer.

Participation Requirements for Accepted Artists:

  • Please note that we are only able to work with US-based artists at this time
  • Signed Consignment Agreement
  • Up to ten (10) artworks held for consignment per applied period. Minimum retail price: $75.00 per item.
  • Photos and descriptions of consigned artwork uploaded to the Society’s website.
  • Up to five (5) additional images displayed on the artist profile. They function as additional visual enticement, encouraging viewers to visit an artist’s website for additional purchases.
  • Link to your website or online store.
  • An artist headshot, or a photo of you working in your studio.
  • Optional: a short (3-5 minute) video about you, your art, or your process so that buyers can connect with the person behind the art, URL format.

Participants in all CraftBoston Online events will receive:

  • A designated online Artist Profile on the Society’s website for the duration of the event, including room for up to 10 consigned artworks.
  • Ability to link their Artist Profile to a personal website or other marketplace for added sales opportunities.
