Artisinal Mastery: Timeless Design in Contemporary Ceramics and Pottery

We invite ceramic artists worldwide to submit their exceptional creations for our upcoming exhibition, “Crafted Elegance: Timeless Design in Contemporary Ceramics and Pottery.” This exhibition celebrates the intersection of craftsmanship, artistic innovation, and enduring design principles in ceramics.

*Selected pieces will be shown in the SA+C online gallery. All selected artists will be featured on SA+C social media, on the website, and in our eNewsletter (sent to 10,000+ recipients). One artist will be awarded a $1,000 grant to inspire their continued work. Plans for an in-person exhibition will be announced at a later date. Work should have been made within the last five (5) years.

Jurying  Process and Theme: “Crafted Elegance” is a showcase dedicated to the artistry and sophistication inherent in contemporary ceramics and pottery. We seek pieces that transcend time boundaries, embodying the essence of timeless design. Whether your work emphasizes functional utility, sculptural form, or experimental techniques, we invite submissions that reflect a commitment to elegance and enduring beauty.

A panel of esteemed jurors with ceramics and contemporary art expertise will carefully review all submissions. Selected works will be featured in the “Crafted Elegance” catalog, our online gallery, and printed catalog. Each selected artist will be featured across SA+C’s social media and eNewsletter (an audience of 10,000+ followers). One artist will be awarded a $1,000 grant to inspire their continued work. Our goal is to provide selected artists with a platform to showcase their contributions to contemporary ceramics.

Submission Guidelines:

  • Artists are encouraged to submit up to three pieces that showcase the fusion of traditional craftsmanship with modern design sensibilities.
  • Pieces should embody the concept of timeless design, showcasing enduring appeal and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Artists will be asked to submit their general artist statement, description of each piece, and two images per piece, up to three pieces can be submitted per entry.
  • Entrants will select the category that best describes their work.


Functional Ceramics: These are everyday pottery items that focus on functionality, such as plates, bowls, mugs, and utensils.

Sculptural Ceramics: Non-functional pieces emphasizing sculptural forms exploring figurative and representational art.

Vessels and Vases: Containers of various shapes and sizes, showcasing the artistry and diversity of vessel design.

Entry Fee $30.00*

Image Requirements
Submit up to three (3) pieces, with a full and detail image of each piece. Photographs should be JPEG or TIFF files sized at a minimum of 4 x 6 inches and (at least) 300 dpi and will be uploaded online.


This international call is open to both emerging and established makers.

Jury Process

Jurors will evaluate the submissions based on creative approaches to the theme, craftsmanship, technical proficiency, aesthetics, and other considerations as determined by the jury.
