About the artist

Award-winning artist and designer Robin Bergman of Robin Originals uses luxurious natural fibers to create hand-loomed knitted clothing and accessories, a manual process using a knitting machine. Inspirations include oriental rugs and vintage and antique textiles. All designs are original and hand-finished in her studio. While pursuing an MFA in painting from the MD Institute College of Art in Baltimore, realizing that her true love was fiber she was encouraged to bring textiles into the studio. Her aesthetics were further refined by experience as a textile conservator at the Gardner Museum in Boston. Robin’s work has received acclaim in Ornament Magazine, American Craft, Surface Design Journal, Fiber Art Now, The Fiberarts Book of Wearable Art and appeared in films “The Night Listener” and “Soul Food.” Work appears regularly at shows, galleries, boutiques and museum shops nationally.
