This Ashanti Keepsake Box is number five in a series of modern African-themed keepsake boxes. The box handle design was inspired by the Ashanti stools of Africa and is made of Gabon ebony. The curved lift-lid-top frame is made of curly maple with a wenge center and turned maple pedestal. The sides are walnut with inlaid patterns of wenge and curly maple atop a wenge base with maple splines. The box is finished with three coats of an oil-varnish mixture plus a topcoat of buffed paste wax.
