I call this line of hand-drawn and hand-painted unique functional ceramics BUG OUT WARE. Each piece is unique. This NEW Decorative Large Lidded Jar can serve as a traditional cookie jar/ pet treat jar, store a variety of items prettily, or adorn a shelf or display case as decorative art. It puts the fun in FUNctional...for obvious reasons OR stands alone as decorative wall art. Unusual heirlooms to commemorate an unusual time. BUG OUT WARE is fully functional fine art ceramics. Made by artist, Cat Manolis, all of the pieces feature hand-drawn and hand-painted large and extremely colorful bugs as the main image. They are food safe, dishwasher safe and microwave safe. Large Lidded Jar measures 9 1/4”H x 7 1/2” diameter. Lid= 7” diameter x 3”H. It’s quite a large and deep jar with a seal in the lid. It was fired in the kiln at cone 06, making it dishwasher safe and food safe. Show off your artistic side with BUG OUT WARE!

About the artist

Cat Manolis began her career 25 years ago, self-taught, in the commercial art world where she designed and created commissioned wall hangings, sculpture, wallpaper designs, and painted large-scale corporate murals for interior designers and architects. Since then, she earned an MFA and has shown craft, sculpture, and paintings on traditional canvases as well as on ceramics and many other surfaces. For the past 4-5 years her focus has shifted to creating and selling jewelry and hand-painted ceramics. BFA- Corcoran College of Art and Design, Washington DC. MFA- UNC Chapel Hill, NC. She sells her work through Frank Gallery, Chapel Hill, NC and Priskorn Gallery in Copenhagen, Denmark. She recently had solo exhibitions at Brown Gallery, Duke University and Gallery 100, Golden Belt Arts. Her art and illustrations have been published in many publications nationally. She taught 3-D Design at UNC, Chapel Hill and has taught art classes for corporations and individuals.
