Made with the Itajime Shibori technique whereby I fold and clamp 100% wool with a series of discs, and then dye it. The result is a bold and modern geometric design. The sides are closed selvage, and the ends are unwoven to form a short fringe.

About the artist

Jenne Rayburn is a Boston-based artist who also studied architecture. Her designs are known for combining vintage textiles, findings and components, with contemporary textile and fashion design. A graduate of the University of Washington where she studied metals and fiber arts, and of the University of Massachusetts, Amherst with a MS in Design, Jenne has a perpetual curiosity and a passion for experimentation resulting in her first textile collection made from hand dyed and pieced fabrics inspired by Norse Mythology.
