Beginning with an asymmetrical agate, this basket continues the theme. One side rises higher than the other and the beads are placed randomly in the pine needle coils. My viewpoint was definitely askew when I made this.

About the artist

Marsha retired in 2016 and made her 25-year hobby in basketmaking her full-time passion. She has shown her work in several galleries, including Spectrum Art Gallery in Centerbrook, CT and Sawmill River Gallery in Montague, MA. Her work has also won several awards: 3rd place in the professional division of the Northeast Basketmakers Guild; 1st place in the mixed media category of the Arizona Gourd Society. One of her wall pieces is in the National Basketry Organization’s Every 1 show currently on-line. Marsha is a long-time member of the National Basketry Organization and the Northeast Basketmakers Guild. She served on the board of the Northeast Basketmakers Guild for 4 years and helped organized the annual gathering in 2019. With a BA and MA in education, she is an excellent teacher.
