Community Bulletin

The dual mission of the Society of Arts + Crafts is to encourage the creation, collection, and promotion of the work of contemporary craft artists and to advance public appreciation of fine craft. To fulfill this mission, the Society fosters an interconnected community by sharing opportunities from fellow craft organizations. Art Jewelry Forum 2019 Susan Beech Mid-Career Grant

The Susan Beech Mid-Career Grant, presented by Art Jewelry Forum, is open to makers between the ages of 35 and 55 at the time of the proposal deadline. The proposed project should be about jewelry, loosely defined. The grant recipient will receive a cash grant of $20,000, to be paid over the two years in which the project will be implemented. Applications will be accepted starting November 1, 2018. The deadline to apply is 11:59 p.m., MST, on Monday, January 14, 2019. More information and complete guidelines can be found here.

Newton Free Library Call for Artists

Newton Free Library Call for Artists

The Newton Free Library presents monthly shows of two-dimensional works by New England area artists in our two exhibiting spaces, the Gallery and Main Hall. We are a state-of-the-art facility visited by more than 15,000 people weekly. The Library Art Committee meets twice each year to select shows for the following year. Applications are now being accepted for exhibits for the July-December 2019 time period.
