Luiza deCamargo joined the Society of Arts and Crafts as the Associate Curator in 2015. She enjoys engaging with visitors in the galleries, encouraging guests to "please touch the art" and find a connection with the objects. In college, Luiza briefly dated a potter who introduced her to contemporary ceramics, yet her love for the wood kiln continues to this day. She furthered her knowledge and passion for craft through an M.A. in the History of Decorative Arts from the Smithsonian Associates in partnership with the Corcoran College of Art and Design. When she's not in the gallery, Luiza can be found baking in her kitchen, walking her fat, yellow dog, or exploring the greater Boston area with her husband, an American historian at Wellesley College.
